There’s plenty to see and do in the Hathern area…
If you’re considering planning a trip then why not plan for it to coincide with one of these great cultural events taking place this year in Hathern and the surrounding areas.
We’re lucky enough to have a dedicated team of people who work tirelessly to pull together some truly memorable events every year. These range from traditional cultural events like the ever popular Bonfire night to more niche music nights, like the first one on our list:
Fred V & Grafix at DBE, Loughborough
If you had asked Devon-born Drum’n’Bass producers Fred Vahrman and Josh Jackson five years ago if they had thought they’d be playing stellar venues such as the DBE at the mere age of 26, they’d probably probably not know what to say.
Promoting their 2017 record, Cinematic Party Music, they’ll be playing a rare Loughborough date before heading to London for another packed out gig at Scala.
3rd Feb 2018/£15 + fees/2200-0400
Funhouse Comedy Club at Swan in the Rushes, Loughborough
Local compere Spiky Mike will be introducing the acts to the stage at the Swan in the Rushes for this night of comedy that you won’t want to miss! In addition to headlining comedian Simon Lomas, runner up in 2017’s ‘English Comedian of the Year‘, there’ll be support from Harry Sanders and American comedian Spring Day. It’s advisable to book your tickets well ahead of schedule as we can almost guarantee that this event will sell out: don’t miss out!
11th Feb 2018/£5.50/Starts 1930
Loughborough Rocks Mini Festival at Loughborough Town Hall
One of two major live music events in the Hathern calendar, Loughborough Rocks brings together dozens of local bands and acts in a Battle of the Bands competition.
A supporting slot at Wicked Hathern Fest ‘18 in the Summer. Bands from across the area will be uploading their tracks for judging, but only five will be chosen to compete at Loughborough Town Hall – you’ll also have the chance to see last year’s winners, Rawkus Redz, performing again!
24th March 2018/£8/Starts 1900
Wicked Hathern Fest ‘18 at Dishley Grange Farm
One of the biggest dates in the Hathern calendar, this two-day festival brings together a heady mix of local bands, awesome tribute acts and chart-topping sell outs. Headliners at previous festivals have included Toploader and The Hoosiers; this year it’s the turn of Scouting for Girls. Keep an eye out on the festival site to see who else will be playing this year and head to Loughborough Rocks to see which local band will be supporting the headliners!
10th-11th August 2018/From £20
Wicked Hathern Fireworks & Bonfire at Dishley Grange Farm
Bonfire night at Dishley Grange Farm is a tradition that has been a fixture in locals’ calendars for a long time. Come and join in the fun this November and you’ll see that it’s a lot more than just a fire in a field. There’ll be live music acts, great food and even a ‘Silent Fireworks’ show for the young ones.
Book tickets in advance to avoid disappointment and make sure you arrive early if you’re hoping to get an up close look at the fireworks!
